NAME and COLOURS

1. The Club shall be called "THE RAWDON CRICKET CLUB" and the Club colours shall be Navy Blue and Gold.

OBJECTS

2. The objects of the club shall be the playing and promotion of cricket and to encourage social intercourse between the members.

MANAGEMENT & COMMITTEE

3. The Annual General Meeting shall be held in the month of March. A Special General Meeting shall be called by circular to every member from the Hon. Secretary upon his/her receiving a written request signed by 25 (twenty five) members. Such a request must state the object for which the meeting is to be called and should be held within four weeks of the receipt of the request by the Hon. Secretary. A quorum for the Annual or Special General Meeting shall be 15 members.

4. The management of the Club shall be based on one committee, to be known as the "Cricket Club Management Committee" to be responsible for all matters appertaining to the running of the Club and shall consist of the President, Vice President, Chairman, Hon. Secretary, Hon. Asst. Secretary, Hon. Treasurer, Hon. Asst. Treasurer, Hon. Cricket Secretary, a representative of the Ladies Committee and to a maximum of 7 (seven) other members. All but the president to be elected at the Annual General Meeting, subject to the following qualifications:

a. The position of President shall be by invitation of the Management Committee. The President and Vice President shall be or have been an active playing member for a minimum of 5 years.

b. All other members of the Cricket Club Management Committee shall have been active member of the Club for a minimum of 3 years.

c. All persons proposed as members of any Committee shall be free of all obligations and finance liability to the club for the previous year.

d. The Committee shall have power to co-opt and will meet within 7 days of the Annual General Meeting to elect the subsequent Sub-Committees:

Cricket, Junior, Bar, Social, Ground, House, Finance, Ladies.

5. The officers to be elected for a minimum period of three years, the officers being: The Chairman, Hon Secretary, Hon. Treasurer, to enable continuity of work within the Committee to be done. Officers elected to serve on the Committee may withdraw within the three year period annually.

6. The Cricket Sub-Committee will appoint members of The Selection Committee.

7. All Captains and Vice Captains of representative teams are to be recommended by the cricket sub committee.

a. When Captains are elected prior to the end of the Club year, or before the Annual General Meeting, the current seasons Captains may continue to attend Cricket Sub-committee meetings until the Annual General Meeting

b. The Selection Committee have the authority to appoint temporary Captains of the 1st or 2nd XI’s in circumstances where those appointed by the Cricket Club Management Committee are not available for selection.

8. Only members who have paid an adult subscription and have been fully paid-up Club members for at least one financial year and who are over the age of 18 at the date of an Annual General Meeting or Special General Meeting may vote on any matter raised at such a meeting.

9. A quorum of the Cricket Club Management Committee shall consist of 4 members of that Committee and the Chairman at all meetings shall have a casting vote in addition to his normal membership vote.

10. No rule herein shall be altered or repealed except at the Annual General Meeting. Notice of any alteration, addition or omission, must be given to the Secretary in writing 28 clear days prior to the date of the Annual General Meeting.

11. Cricket Club Management Committee shall have the power to determine any question of these rules and also any matter that may arise affecting the Club not provided by them.

12. Any member of the Cricket Club Management Committee who cannot attend any meeting shall advise the Secretary and shall after being absent from three consecutive meetings give an explanation in writing. Failure to do so shall mean that the member shall cease to be a Committee Member and the Committee may select another in that Members place.

13. The Cricket Club Management Committee shall meet at least monthly with a period of not more than six weeks between meetings of the committee.

FINANCE

14. A report of the cricket and general affairs of the Club, along with a certified statement of accounts shall be presented to the Annual General Meeting and will be made available for all members to collect from the clubhouse prior to the AGM. A notice convening the meeting will be posted in the clubhouse.

CLUB PREMISES AND EQUIPMENT

15. The changing rooms and score box shall only be used by playing members, officials, scorers, umpires and members of the visiting team.

16. Any equipment, building, ground and other goods and chattels of any description belonging to the Club or in its custody or control shall be used only by members of the Club, unless otherwise specifically agreed and always subject to the directions of the Cricket Club Management Committee.

No equipment belonging to the Club shall be removed from the club premises without the express permission of the Cricket Club Management Committee. Any equipment removed for whatever reason shall be returned to the Club immediately at the request of the Management Committee.

MEMBERSHIP AND SUBSCRIPTIONS

17. Membership shall be open to all irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, colour, social status and sexual orientation.

Upon payment of the annual membership subscription a member will be supplied with a receipt.

18. Subscription rates shall be displayed immediately after the Annual General Meeting in a prominent position in the clubhouse and the Club shall not be obliged to give any further notice. In the event of non-payment of membership subscription within the prescribed period membership of the Club shall cease forthwith.

19. The subscriptions for membership of the Club shall be as follows:-
Any enrolment fee - (players, OAPs and existing members excluded).
(Re-joining members must pay any enrolment fee)

     Playing members: Over 18 £20 plus any match fee
                                  Under 18 by arrangement   

           Social members: Male over 18        £21 per annum
                                        Female over 18      £15 per annum
                                        Male senior citizen    £11 per annum
                                        Female senior citizen  £ 8 per annum

(The defining age for senior citizen membership shall be the state pensionable/retirement age. There will be no exceptions to this ruling)

 Family membership:  Per child £1 per annum

Country Membership, currently £5 per 3 month period.

The date for calculating ages shall be the first day of the Airedale and Wharfedale Senior Cricket League season. The Cricket Club Management Committee will review subscriptions annually. Any member joining the Club after January 1st of any year will pay any enrolment fee with the actual subscription halved.

All junior cricketers within the club shall be enrolled as junior members, at an annual fee recommended by the junior sub committee and to be approved by the club management committee. A condition of acceptance of junior membership is that at least one parent or guardian (preferably both) of each junior member shall be a fully paid up club member, and shall be fully governed by all club rules.

20. Any member being guilty of a breach of any of these rules or conduct which in the opinion of the Cricket Club Management Committee renders him likely to bring the reputation of the club into disrepute may be disciplined by the Cricket Club Management Committee whose decision shall be final.

LIFE MEMBERS

21. Life Members of the Club may be elected at the Annual General Meeting by a 90% majority of the Members present and entitled to vote but the name of the persons nominated must be advised to the Secretary in writing 28 clear days prior to the date of the Annual General Meeting. Upon election of a member to Life Membership no further subscription fees will be requested from the Life Member or the spouse of the Life Member. The Cricket Club Management Committee should discuss any proposal for Life Membership prior to the Annual General Meeting and the Management Committee should guide members at the Annual General Meeting.

The person nominated for Life Membership together with the proposer and seconder should be present at the Annual General Meeting to support the proposal.

22. All persons who wish to become members of the Club will be proposed and seconded by members who are not in arrears with subscriptions and are over the age of 18 and have been fully paid-up members for at least one financial year at the time the application (on the appropriate form) is made. Such applications will be considered at the next meeting of the Cricket Club Management Committee following the application.

The name and address of any person proposed for social membership shall be displayed in the clubhouse not less than two days prior to the meeting of the Cricket Club Management Committee.

CLUBHOUSE

23. The hours during which intoxicating liquor may be supplied shall be as indicated on a sign adjacent to the bar and shall be set within the legal limits by the Cricket Club Management Committee.

The times specified may be amended following successful application to the Licensing Authority

All members shall vacate the premises within 30 minutes after the closing time specified on the sign indicated in paragraph 1 of this rule.

24. The clubhouse shall not be used for the playing of any game of chance or other unlawful game.

25. Any member over the age of 18 years shall be entitled to introduce guests to the club provided that no person whose application for membership has been declined or who has been expelled from the Club shall be introduced. Both the member and his guest shall sign the visitors book immediately on entering the premises. A guest may only be introduced to the Club on four occasions in any one financial year and is expected to submit an application for membership should further participation of the Club's facilities be required.

NB. 1) No guest shall be allowed to purchase intoxicating liquor in the clubhouse.
      2) No member under the age of 18 may introduce guests to the Club.

Club members shall be responsible for the behaviour of any guests they introduce to the Club, prior to acceptance or otherwise as members. It is also the member’s responsibility to ensure guests are aware of the Club rules that are relevant during the period of their visit.

26. All members of Clubs shall for the actual day on which such a club shall play at Rawdon be regarded as temporary members of the Club and shall be entitled to all privileges of the Club, other than those of voting and introducing visitors to the club
The above temporary members will be signed in the visitor’s book en-block, along with the Umpires and visiting scorers.

27. At all times when intoxicating liquor is being supplied, the clubhouse shall be in control of the person on bar duty who shall ensure that the following procedures are strictly adhered to:-

a) The times specified in rule 23 are observed. THIS IS REQUIRED BY LAW and amendment of the times is NOT at the discretion of the person on bar duty.

b) The bar cash is properly accounted for and secured.

c) The premises are properly secured and the burglar alarm system operative upon leaving at the end of the duty period.

 d) The club shall supply intoxicating liquor for consumption inside or outside the clubhouse, but within the club confines. The option of supplying drink for outdoor consumption shall be withdrawn at anytime at the discretion of the bar person and or, members of the club management committee, whose decision shall be final.

28. No person under the age of 18 years may be supplied with intoxicants for his own consumption or the consumption of any other person. No person under the age of 18 years may use the Gaming machine on the Club premises.

29. The Secretary shall keep up to date at all times a register of names and addresses of all members which shall be kept at the clubhouse.

30. All delegates and representatives on behalf of the Club at any Junior or senior League meeting must be members, either actual or ex-officio of the Cricket Club Management Committee and must report to the next meeting of the Cricket Club Management Committee following the League Meeting, the details and decisions, if any, of the League Meeting concerned.

EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY

31. Neither the Club nor any Officer thereof shall be liable to any member or guest of a member for any loss of, or damage to, any property occurring from whatever cause in or about the Club premises, nor any injury sustained by any member or guest whilst on or entering or leaving the Club premises and a notice to this effect shall at all times be displayed in a prominent position on the Club premises.

DISPLAYING OF RULES AND CONDUCT

32. A copy of these rules shall be displayed in the Clubhouse at all times and shall be available to all members.

33. Reimbursement for justifiable and quantifiable expenses shall be paid to eligible officials.

Officials eligible for justifiable and quantifiable expenses are the Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Secretary, Cricket Secretary and the Assistant Treasurer.

34. Any member playing for the Club shall conduct himself in a sporting manner and at all times accept the decision of the umpires as final. The Cricket Club Management Committee shall not tolerate abuse of the umpires, either physical or verbal, and any member not behaving in the true tradition of the game of cricket shall be brought before the Cricket Club Management Committee to explain his conduct. Should the accusation be proven, the player shall be suspended for a number of games, to be decided by the Committee.

35. Members children over the age of 12 and under the age of 18 may be admitted to family membership of the Club on application by one or both of their parents and the payment of £1 for each child admitted, except that playing members under the age of 18 shall continue to be governed by rule 19 and that any rule restraining the rights of members under 18 shall also apply to this class of membership which shall cease at the age of 18.

Full membership shall then be available without the customary formalities and subject to personal application for transfer being made to the appropriate Club official within 3 months of reaching the age of 18 and the approval of the Cricket Club Management Committee being given.

36. All complaints or suggestions by members shall be made in writing to the Secretary to be dealt with by the Cricket Club Management Committee.

37. Anyone wishing to display information on the notice board must have the permission of the Cricket Club Management Committee.

38. Any member guilty of the use of foul and abusive language or attempted or actual physical violence to any person/s in the clubhouse or the confines of the Club premises shall be subject to instant suspension of membership until a meeting of the Cricket Club Management Committee can be convened.

Any member who has had his or her membership suspended may not stand for election to the Cricket Club Management Committee for a period of three years following the date of the suspension.

39. All children under the age of 14 years must vacate the clubhouse and its confines before 10p.m. on any night.

40. A limited number (up to a maximum of three in any financial year) of Official Functions may be held admitting members on a ticket only basis.

41. The club will offer, subject to committee approval a Country membership to anyone who is.

1.) Dispossessed of a local club or other establishment on a temporary basis, or

2.) Is a relation/friend of a member and is temporarily in the area,

or

3.) Is a member of a sporting club elsewhere in the country/world and has offered his/her credentials to the Management Committee, and wishes to use the club for a limited period during the year

The country membership will be for a period of 3 months at a time, membership fee payable quarterly.

The Management committee on an annual basis will decide the quarterly fee.

Any country member will have no club voting rights whatsoever and cannot stand on any committee within the club unless the Management Committee feel that the country member has a skill or other attribute which will benefit the club on an immediate basis.

The management committee has full right to refuse any country membership application without explanation.

42. On dissolution of the club, any net assets are to be applied for approved charitable purposes.

The approved charitable purposes shall be the charity selected to receive any charitable contributions from the club, as selected annually by the management committee
